Wellbeing Economy Cymru Event Image

Why should food be at the heart
of Welsh Government policy?

And how can that be achieved in practice?

Ahead of Wales’ upcoming Senedd elections in May 2026, Wellbeing Economy Cymru is hosting a series of online discussion forums, asking what we want from the next Senedd, and what the Welsh Government can do to strengthen the wellbeing economy in Wales.  We hope you’ll join us for these conversations with some of the people and organisations leading the way.

Food policy has the power to deliver across multiple national priorities: healthier communities, thriving rural economies, stronger local supply chains and climate action.

But making that happen requires leadership and coordination across government.

In this discussion we’ll explore what role the Welsh Government can play in strengthening Wales’ food system, and what practical policy changes could help place food at the centre of economic, health and environmental strategy.  Please join us to discuss what leadership from the next Welsh Government could look like.

Speakers

Pearl Costello, Food Sense Wales

Duncan Fisher, Our Food Trust

Jane Powell, CyFAN Cymru (WRFFC)
